Mathematics

At Jeannine Manuel School, mathematics is about exploring, questioning and discovering patterns. From counting with natural objects in Nursery to investigating algebra and geometry later in their academic careers, students develop mathematical confidence through hands-on learning, enquiry and regular opportunities to explain their thinking. Concepts are revisited and extended over time, enabling students to make connections and build lasting understanding. This approach develops confident mathematicians who are not only fluent in calculation and mathematical concepts, but also curious, creative and resilient.

Mathematics Through the Years

Two young students, a boy and a girl, are engaged in a math activity with colorful counting rods on a table in the foreground, while a blurred background suggests a classroom setting.

Our Unique Bilingual Mathematics Curriculum

More than just words

Different education systems often introduce concepts using different methods and representations. By experiencing Mathematics through both English and French lenses, students learn to approach problems from multiple perspectives, compare strategies and develop greater flexibility in their thinking. They become confident using mathematical language in both languages while gaining a deeper understanding of the concepts that underpin them.
