Learning Beyond the Classroom: Trips & Co-Curricular
Learning That Goes Further
At Jeannine Manuel School, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Educational visits, residential trips and cultural experiences are an integral part of school life, enriching the curriculum and encouraging students to deepen their understanding through first-hand experience.
Whether exploring London's museums, carrying out geographical fieldwork, attending a theatre performance or immersing themselves in another culture, students are encouraged to think independently, embrace new challenges and make meaningful connections between their learning and the world around them. These experiences foster curiosity, collaboration and resilience while bringing classroom learning to life.

London as Our Classroom
Our central London location provides exceptional opportunities for learning beyond school. Throughout the year, students regularly visit museums, galleries, theatres, historical landmarks and cultural institutions, using the city as an extension of the classroom. In fact, the British Museum is so closely woven into school life that parents give permission at the start of the year for students to visit whenever it enhances their learning.
These visits are carefully planned to complement the curriculum. Geography students investigate urban regeneration through fieldwork in East London, English students deepen their understanding of literature through exhibitions at Tate Modern, and theatre visits enrich the study of dramatic texts. By engaging directly with people, places and ideas, students develop a deeper appreciation of their subjects and the world around them.
Learning Across Borders
Travel is an important part of our bilingual and international approach to education. Educational visits in the UK and overseas enable students to experience different cultures, practise languages in authentic contexts and see their studies from new perspectives.
Whether exploring the history and culture of Madrid, Munich, Marseille or Beijing, students are encouraged to apply their language skills, engage with local communities and connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. Every trip has clear educational objectives, creating memorable experiences that inspire curiosity and deepen intercultural understanding.
