Our definition of bilingualism is an ambitious one: for us, bilingualism is the ability to express oneself in French and in English, orally and in writing, with native ease and compelling effectiveness. Our teaching is split 50-50 between French and English (except in the IB tracks), and our teachers all teach in their native language. Read more about this here! 

No! We welcome non French-speaking students at all levels and beginners in English up to Year 7. 

We follow the French national curriculum with many major exemptions, notably in English and English-taught subjects.

From Year 4, all students learn Mandarin Chinese, which they can then swap for Latin in Year 7. In Year 8, students also learn either Spanish or German. Please do talk to us if your child learns another language outside of school as we may be able to provide exemptions.

We also offer a Home Languages Programme for students from Year 1 to Year 10 who are already fluent in Italian, Arabic or Russian. Contact us for more information! 

In Year 10, our students may take the Brevet International (“DNBI”). In Year 11, all students do IGCSEs in English Literature and Language, and they may also choose to do Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Spanish, German and Mandarin. In Year 12, students choose between the International Baccalaureate (“IB”) or Baccalaureat Francais International (“BFI”), which also includes American Advanced Placements ("APs"). We do have several bus routes that run in the morning and afternoon. The bus is open to students from Nursery to Year 10, and there is a chaperone on board as well as the driver. You can contact our admissions office for more detail about the routes. 

We offer a school lunch plan for students from Nursery through to Year 10, with delicious hot meals prepared fresh every day. We are pleased to offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. 

Families also have the option to send a packed lunch if they prefer. Note that students with allergies must sign up to the packed lunch option.

While we don’t have a traditional school uniform, we do follow a dress code that reflects our school spirit and sense of belonging. Pupils are asked to wear official Jeannine Manuel School tops - available in a variety of styles and colours to suit all preferences.

Students are free to choose their own bottoms, as long as they are school appropriate.

Yes, we’re proud to offer a rich and varied extracurricular programme with over 60 clubs and activities available to our students. From sports and the arts to academic and creative pursuits, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

We are thrilled to have access to so many brilliant museums and use them for school trips and visits throughout the year. We especially love taking our students to the British Museum, located only a few minutes away from all three of our buildings although we have also done residential trips as far afield as China.

Our youngest students join us in Nursery, and the majority of our students turn 3 by the 31st December the year in which they join us. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss this. 

This will depend on their age and educational experience. EYFS applicants can expect to play while we will do some age-appropriate language and mathematics exercises for students in older years.

Interviews can be organised on Zoom and admissions exercises completed in your current school. Contact us for more details.
